Nagaland Blanket

Nagaland blankets can be used as drapes over sofas.  Nagaland is in North East India.  I have been there myself and it is fascinating to see the different tribes there.

Early history of the Naga is scant. Reference to a people thought to be the ancestors of the present day Naga is found in ancient Sanskrit records, describing fierce inhabitants of a sub-Himalayan region with golden skin, related to the Mongoloid Tibeto-Burmans.
The Naga have a long tradition of hand crafting exotic adornments, weapons and textiles resplendent with deeply symbolic motifs and tribal designs. With over a dozen distinct tribes and as many mutually incomprehensible languages, the various Naga tribes have produced a broad symbolic vocabulary for artistic expression. These symbols have served to affirm the unique identities of Naga tribes for millennium. Today, several Naga tribes live in Burma and Northeast India, together numbering over 100,000.
The Naga garnered a reputation for being strongly independent and fierce in battle during conflicts with the British in India during the 19th century. The Naga were for a long time known to be head hunters and the blankets that men wore, known as warrior blankets, would indicate the number of kills made in battle.
